MUDGUARD X FORTUNA VERBINDT
CREATIVITY WITH REAL HEART
A CLUB THAT DOES IT DIFFERENT
Fortuna Verbindt is the social heartbeat of Fortuna Sittard and you feel that the moment you walk in. Jorg welcomed us in his own calm and sharp way. Young guy. Knows his community. Knows what the kids in Sittard vibe with. Mudguard visits more than ten Eredivisie clubs for workshops and inspiration sessions, but Fortuna has its own rhythm. Other activities. Other energy. A tighter bond. After months of calls early 2025 to get to know each other and shape the partnership, we finally stepped into the stadium at the end of the year for our first session. When Kik asked what the group had done earlier that day, Jorg just smiled and said they had a press conference with the head coach and first team players, made their own captain armbands, picked a winner, and that the winner would actually wear the band in an Eredivisie match. And then… it was Mudguard’s turn. The bar was high. They laughed about it. But the fit was perfect.
INSPIRE FIRST CREATE AFTER
Just like always we kicked off with an inspiration talk. A real one. Building a brand young. Finding your thing. How to move in fashion. How marketing actually works on the streets. The group listened sharp. Then we moved into the design part where everything opened up. Moodboards first to catch the feeling. Sketching after. Not about clean lines but about meaning and story. And here it happened. One participant who was normally quiet, almost invisible in the group, suddenly locked in and created something wild. Not just a tee. He built a full fit. Shirt. Pants. Cap. Even came up with his own brand name and what it stood for. That spark is exactly why we do this.
A WORKSHOP WITH FAMILY ENERGY
Fortuna loved seeing him come out of his shell and get confident. The whole room felt proud of him. The design team picked his work as the winner and the moment felt right. These sessions at Fortuna Verbindt were special. Warm. Honest. Long term for sure. And the best part with a wink came after. Jorg took us on a private tour through the stadium and the museum. And in true Sittard style we closed the day with a fresh vlaai on the table. Hard to beat that ending.
